Last year we used a FDA approved hand-operated pump:
Action Pump EZ-55 Food Grade 55 Gallon Double Action Drum Pump
We brought two, one of which broke. This pump was difficult to use, it required climbing on-top of the IBC tote and kneeling/standing to gain enough leverage to pump. It would be a welcome improvement to use a more durable and more convenient pump.
Most industrial pumps are a poor fit for our needs, as far as I can tell the pump we used last year is the only food-grade hand-operated pump. More convenient rotary-pumps are all designed for use with corrosive liquids and oils.
However, marine applications have good solutions for boats. Turns out most galley’s need a low-power decent throughput food-grade pump. As an added bonus, they’re all self-priming and resilient to running dry. Right now the one which stands out with good reviews is:
I suggest we purchase 1x electrical pump and 1x pump from last year for redundancy and should print out the electrical pump manual to bring on playa if repairs are needed:
On July 2, 2022 I purchased 2x pipe fittings, 2x filters, 1x electrical pump, 1x accumulator:
